At Dustcontrol UK, we exist to protect the people who work in environments where dust and airborne particles put health at risk. World Lung Day is our opportunity to stand alongside our industry and say: this matters, we take it seriously, and together we can make a difference. BREATHE. is not just an event. It is a statement about the kind of company we are – and the kind of industry we want to be part of. 25 SEPTEMBER 2026 WHAT’S HAPPENING ON THE DAY ■ The BREATHE. Charity Relay Walk A lakeside relay walk around Willen Lake – open to all fitness levels. We are offering two route options so everyone can take part at their own pace. Both routes include challenges along the way and both finish together at the same moment. ■ The Wheelbarrow Challenge A fun, construction-themed relay challenge where teams push wheelbarrows along a section of the route. All in a good cause – and great content for anyone filming on the day. Construction outfits warmly encouraged. ■ The Lung Sculpture Unveiling The event culminates with the unveiling of a large-scale sculptural installation – a pair of lungs built from reclaimed construction materials. The perfect centrepiece for World Lung Day, and a powerful visual reminder of why we are all here. ■ Asthma + Lung UK — On the Day We are fundraising in support of Asthma + Lung UK, and they will be joining us on the day. They’ll be bringing COPD simulation suits, giving participants a powerful, first-hand experience of what it feels like to breathe with a lung condition. They’ll also be signposting participants to their information, support groups and services. Option A – The Moderate Route Half loop of Willen South Lake – approx. 1.3 miles Approx 45-60 minutes at a relaxed pace Fully flat – suitable for all fitness levels Includes wheelbarrow relay and fitness station challenges Finishes at the lung sculpture unveiling Option B – The Full Challenge Full loop of Willen Lake – North and South – 2.6 miles Approx 80-100 minutes at a steady walking pace Mostly flat – for those wanting a real challenge Full wheelbarrow relay, all fitness stations, bonus challenges Also finishes at the lung sculpture unveiling – together Links to Participation and Donation OUR CHARITY PARTNERS – ASTHMA + LUNG UK All funds raised on the day will go directly to Asthma + Lung UK – the UK’s leading lung health charity, dedicated to improving the lives of people living with asthma and lung disease.
